Sometimes, he seemed to just get stuck and talked without me even pressing anything.
I was planning on adding an audio out jack to record in higher quality but I wasn't able to in time.
These recordings are sufficient though. The plastic creaking adds ambiance.
CIRCUIT BENT AUTOMATIC ANSWERING MACHINE
I thought it would be fun to try and bend an answering machine, since it's basically like a sampler by itself.
It actually turned out to make some very nice and interesting sounds, even without any extra parts.
Right now I haven't soldered anything to it yet, but I will eventually and I'll write up something for the projects page.
CIRCUIT BENT HARD DISK DRIVE
This was my first full bend I ever made, just an audio jack connected to two of the poles of the motor on a broken HDD.
Unless you can spin the disk to more than 60 RPM by hand, it only generates inaudible frequencies.
Which isn't too bad, as it produces an extremely pure sine wave that's great as an LFO.
Here, I just put it into a granular synth module in VCV Rack and it made some cool Sci-Fi sounds.
